The Harvath Directive

The Harvath Directive was founded in 2007 by former armed services member, Carlos S. Jimenez.  Mr. Jimenez contacted #1 NY Times bestselling author Brad Thor, outlining his concept for beginning the foundation, and with Brad's support The Harvath Directive was born.  Carlos began accepting book donations and initially bore all expense for shipping the books overseas to our troops.  In 2008, at the request of those wishing to support THD but unable to send books, Mr. Jimenez opened an account with Paypal to accept monetary donations.  It is Carlos' dream that The Harvath Directive become a self-sustaining, non-profit organization.  We are working hard to make that dream a reality.

The Harvath Directive is so named in honor of the main character of Brad Thor's books - Scot Harvath.

Brad Thor studied Creative Writing at the University of Southern California under renowned author T.C. Boyle. He created and hosted an MTV-style travel series called 'Travelling Lite' which debuted in 1997.   His Award-winning company, Thor Entertainment, has won a Platinum "Best of Show" Aurora Award and a Communicator Broadcast Award of Distinction.

Brad has served as a member of the Department of Homeland Security’s Analytic Red Cell Program and is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Lions of Lucerne, Path of the Assassin, State of the Union, Blowback, Takedown, The First Commandment, The Last Patriot, The Apostle and Foreign Influence.  He also contributed a story entitled The Athens Solution to the James Patterson edited thriller anthology, Thriller and is a frequent television and cable news commentator.  Visit his website at Brad Thor.com.
